We are currently working on multiple projects across the metropolitan area from Two Rocks to Mandurah and from Australind to Margaret River in the southwest region. Our projects have multiple active stages with project values ranging from $500K to $10million. 

About the Role

We are recruiting for a Cable Jointer to join our power crew on our Civil construction projects around the Perth Metro area. 

 

You will be required to

  • make & prepare joints & control cables installed in underground pipes and trenches as part of installation of power services;
  • carry out site works in joining insulated electric power cables in underground conduits and trenches;
  • prepare cable terminations for connection to electrical equipment and overhead lines; and
  • undertake civil works associated with the installation cabling systems, installation of cable and the installation of Western Power pillars.
  • Preparing low and high voltage cable joints and cable terminations while connecting and installing electrical equipment;
  • Installing conductors and underground cables and equipment;
  • Installing equipment associated with electrical supply such as transformers;
  • Using basic hand tools; and
  • Undertaking substation installation and maintenance, and specialised testing.

 

Skills Required

  • Trade / Cable Jointing Certification;
  • At least three years’ experience as Cable Jointer working in the civil construction projects;
  • Strong work history in Cable Jointer role;
  • Western Power accreditation (ability to obtain) for HV & LV jointing;
  • High-risk work License;
  • Current WA Manual Driver’s License;
  • Construction White Card; and
  • Construction White Card.
  • Strong work ethic and work history.
